Evidence for Multiple Companions to

چکیده
1 Based on observations obtained at Lick Observatory, operated by the University of California, and at the Whipple Observatory, operated by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. ABSTRACT The bright F8 V star Andromedae was previously reported to have a 4.6 day Doppler velocity periodicity, consistent with a Jupiter{mass companion orbiting at 0.059 AU. Follow{up observations by both the Lick and AFOE planet survey programs connrm this periodicity, and reveal additional periodicities at 242 and 1269 days. These periodicities are consistent with Keplerian orbital motion, and imply two additional companions orbiting at 0.83 and 2.5 AU, with minimum (M sin i) masses of 2.0 and 4.1 Jupiter-masses respectively. Non{Keplerian explanations for the observed Doppler velocity variations are examined, including radial and nonradial pulsations, rotational modulation of surface features, and stellar magnetic cycles. These explanations seem unlikely based on the observed photometric and chromospheric stability of the star. This putative three planet system is found to be dynamically stable by both analytic techniques and numerical simulations. The outer two companions both reside in eccentric orbits, as do all 9 known extrasolar planet candidates in distant orbits. If real, this multiple{planet system is the rst around a main-sequence star, and its study should ooer insights into planet formation, planet{planet interactions, and the observed eccentricities of planetary orbits.

Multiple Robotic Wheelchair System Considering Group Communication
In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for elderly care in Japan due to the problems posed by a declining birthrate and an aging population. To deal with the problem, we aim to develop a multiple wheelchair robot system that moves with multiple companions collaboratively. In actual care, we noticed that for a group of four people, which included wheelchair users and their companio...

The explanation and study of the meaning of a tradition is certainly based on confirming its receiving validity and also its content validity, a content which should be attributed to the infallible. In other words, it is based on the degree of the consistency of the narrated text to the original one. In this regard, the efforts of religious scholars from the past to thepresent are so ostensible...
متن کاملInfluence of Stellar Multiplicity on Planet Formation. Ii. Planets Are Less Common in Multiple-star Systems with Separations Smaller than 1500 Au
Almost half of the stellar systems in the solar neighborhood are made up of multiple stars. In multiple-star systems, planet formation is under the dynamical influence of stellar companions, and the planet occurrence rate is expected to be different from that for single stars. There have been numerous studies on the planet occurrence rate of single star systems. However, to fully understand pla...
متن کاملThe Likeness of the Prophet`s Companions to a Growing Plant; a Comparative Case Study of the Holy Quran and the Four Versions of the Gospel
In the passage "... Such is their likeness in the Torah and their likeness in the Gospel like as sown corn that sendeth forth its shoot and strengtheneth it and riseth firm upon its stalk..." in verse 29 of Surah Fath the Prophet`s companions have been likened to growing plants. According to the above statement, there must be passages containing the parable of the verse in Gospel. The search fo...
متن کاملInfluence of Stellar Multiplicity on Planet Formation. Iv. Adaptive Optics Imaging of Kepler Stars with Multiple Transiting Planet Candidates
The Kepler mission provides a wealth of multiple transiting planet systems (MTPSs). The formation and evolution of multi-planet systems are likely to be influenced by companion stars given the abundance of multiple stellar systems. We study the influence of stellar companions by measuring the stellar multiplicity rate of MTPSs. We select 138 bright (KP < 13.5) Kepler MTPSs and search for stella...
متن کاملThe Stability and Prospects of the Detection of Terrestrial/habitable Planets in Multiplanet and Multiple Star Systems
Given the tendency of planets to form in multiples, and the observational evidence in support of the existence of potential planet-hosting stars in binaries or clusters, it is expected that extrasolar terrestrial planes are more likely to be found in multiple body systems. This paper discusses the prospects of the detection of terrestrial/habitable planets in multibody systems by presenting the...
